SEND Legal Consultancy specialises in supporting parents and young people in challenging local authority decisions through the SEND Tribunal process around Education Health Care Plans. We offer affordable & transparent legal services without the solicitor fees, helping you navigate the complex SEND system.
Not all appeals require a tribunal hearing as the majority of appeals are resolved before this stage. You are able to select all or some of the services offered below depending on your needs and how quickly your appeal is resolved.
Telephone appointment with a SEND Consultant regarding the grounds of your appeal. We can advise whether you have a strong case and the services we are able to offer should you decide to instruct us.
We will review all existing documentation, provide written advice specific to your case, detailed feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of your case, suggest further evidence needed and advice on next steps.
We will guide you through the mediation process, prepare your case and attend mediation with you if required.
If mediation is unsuccessful, you may wish to pursue your appeal with the SEND Tribunal [SENDT]. We can prepare and submit your grounds of appeal to SENDT, along with relevant supporting evidence.
If you are appealing against the content of the EHCP, we can review all existing documentation and prepare a 'working document' indicating areas which require amendment in preparation for your appeal.
You will be given an opportunity to submit further and final evidence, should the local authority oppose your appeal. We can review the local authority’s response to your appeal, collate and submit further supporting evidence.
Completion of relevant form which may include preparation for and attendance to Judicial Alternative Dispute Resolution meeting [JADR].
We can advise on and prepare you for the SEND Tribunal Hearing and attend with you if required.
